Nasal Valve Reconstruction

Nasal valve blockage(seen here by an arrow pointing to an indentation in the nasal tissue) can cause significant difficulty breathing – both day and night.
Despite using nasal steroid sprays, decongestants, antihistamines, many patients do not achieve relief from their nasal obstruction. The culprit in certain cases may be a narrow nasal valve -causing blockage of nasal airflow. Most patients that suffer from this can see their nose “pinch” when they breathe in through their nose.

Nasal Valve Reconstruction is an office procedure designed to correct nasal obstruction resulting from a narrow nasal valve. The principle behind this surgery is straightforward: to restore proper airflow via the nasal passage by increasing the angle of the nasal valve. This is performed using either a synthetic stent or portions of the patient’s nasal cartilage. Everything is done through the nose, therefore, the patient does not have any visible incisions or bruising after surgery.
